SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS – SCBA
This is a basic course, which provides the participant with the knowledge of the correct use of a SCBA. The participant will be able to identify the components of SCBA equipment, learn how to perform a pre-inspection of the equipment and become knowledgeable in the use of the SCBA equipment.
Course Content:
- Component identification
- Air supply and air rating
- Regulator assembly
- Face piece assembly
- Harness assembly
- Pre-inspection checklist
- After use inspection
- Correct method of donning and doffing of SCBA equipment

RESPIRATOR FIT
A respirator is an essential tool in many work environments. The respirator must be fitted to the user and have an effective seal, or it will allow leakage, which is a safety hazard and in a toxic environment and can lead to serious illness. Each participant is fit tested with their own respirator.
Course Content:
- Types of respirators and their uses
- How to apply, adjust and store the respirator
- How to maintain and inspect the respirator
Duration – 2 hours (may be longer if over 10 participants)
Number of Participants – Maximum 20
Certifying Body – Domcor Health, Safety & Security Inc.
Certificate Expiry – 1 year
Prerequisites – Each person must bring their own respirator
