CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AWARENESS TRAINING

 This course is designed to give the participants an overview of safety on a construction site and to build confidence with working on a construction site. On a construction site, the work environment, climate, equipment, personnel, and conditions are in a continuous state of change. These variables can cause accidents and injuries if you do not have the proper awareness and respect of the hazards and best safety practices are not strictly followed.

WORKPLACE SAFETY AWARENESS FOR KITCHENS

The Workplace Safety Awareness course for kitchens is specifically designed for those participants that will be working in the culinary arts with a focus on safety in the kitchen.

The course covers a wide scope of safety areas that are encountered in restaurant and professional kitchens.

Course Content:

  • Equipment safety (deep fat fryers)
  • Handling and lifting
  • Housekeeping
  • Knives and sharps
  • Lockout
  • Material Safety Data Sheets (kitchen)
  • Safety on the job
  • Scalds and burns
  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Stepladders
  • Supervising
  • Working alone

Duration – 3 hours

KNIFE SAFETY AWARENESS

While the blade of a knife can be very sharp, it’s not very bright! It cannot tell whether it is cutting a piece of meat or your finger. That is why your employees must stay sharp, always keeping their minds on safety when using industrial knifes. They must follow safe work practices for each cutting task to prevent disabling cuts or lacerations, which may take a long time to heal and possibly months of rehabilitation. This course provides information to assist you to understand the dangers of working with knives.

  • Importance of a sharp blade
  • Utility knives
  • Sharpening and inspecting a fixed blade knife
  • Signs and hazards of a dull blade
  • Keeping body parts away from sharp knives

  • Responding to knife injuries
  • Practical cutting demonstration
